The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to auction cars, laptops, phones and other items at several locations across the country including, Lagos, Abuja, Uyo, Port Harcourt.
This was disclosed in a public notice issued by the commission on Friday. There are both physical and e-auctions scheduled on different dates in December. Inspections are also scheduled.
The auction is open to the general public across the country, according the EFCC.
The commission said that all items are sold “as is, where is” with no warranty, express or implied.
The EFCC explained that “it is the sole responsibility of the buyer to ascertain, confirm, research, inspect, and/or investigate assets and any/all information regarding the type, condition and status of assets prior to bidding.
“Buyer accepts any/all risks associated with variations in marketability of assets purchased.”
The commission said that successful bidders will have 48 hours to make full payment which includes 7.5% VAT.
It explained further that if the winning bidder failed to payment within the 48 hours, the second highest bidder will be offered the opportunity to make payment within 24 hours.
The commission noted that buyers will receive a “Release Note” after full payment has been made, which will be used to pick up the purchased item.
Buyers will be refunded full amount paid, if the “Release Note” for the item was not released.
