Dangote Cement Plc (NGX: DANGCEM) has regained top spot as the most capitalized stock on the Nigeria Exchange.
The share price of the cement manufacturer gained 9.86% at the end f trading on Wednesday, pushing its price to ₦452.50.

With 17.04 billion outstanding shares, the company’s market capitalization rose to ₦7.71 trillion.
It surpassed the ₦7.52 trillion market capitalization of Airtel Africa Plc (NGX: AIRTELAFRI) to become the most capitalized stock on the Nigerian Exchange.
Dangote Cement had lost it’s top position with the introduction of shares of telecommunications giants; Airtel Africa Plc and MTN Nigeria Communications Plc on the Nigeria Exchange.
United Bank for Africa Plc (NGX: UBA), Access Holdings Plc (NGX: ACCESSCORP) and Transcorp Hotels Plc (NGX: TRANSCOHOT) recently surpassed the ₦1.00 trillion capitalization mark.
Geregu Power Plc (NGX: GEREGU) on Wednesday firmly joined the exclusive club of companies with more than ₦1 trillion market capitalization, as its market capitalization rose to ₦1.17 trillion.

- Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc – ₦1.37 trillion
- Seplat Energy Plc – ₦1.36 trillion
- Geregu Power Plc – ₦1.17 trillion
- United Bank for Africa Plc – ₦1.11 trillion
- Access Holdings Plc – ₦1.05 trillion
- Transcorp Hotels Plc – ₦1.02 trillion
These 12 companies account for ₦38.11 trillion of the ₦49.28 trillion equities market capitalization, holding 77.33% of the market cap.
