The Nigerian Exchange’s equities market suffered loses on Thursday owing to Dangote Cement Plc. The benchmark index; NGX All-Share Index dropped by 1.12% to close trading on Thursday at 46,009.23 points.
The share price of Dangote Cement Plc (NGX: DANGCEM), the most capitalized company on the NGX dropped on the day. It lost 8.53% by the end of trading to close at N260.00.
The market capitalization shed N280.61 billion, 1.12% lower than its opening figures to settle at N24.79 trillion.

The activity level waned on Thursday as the volume of shares traded decreased by 15.06%, while the value of traded shares decreased by 42.64%.
279.44 million units of shares valued at N2.76 billion was traded in 4,151 deals.
UPDCREIT, COURTVILLE and TRANSCORP Shares were the most traded by volume with 46.35mn, 36.08mn, and 16.88 shares respectively.
Shares of GTCO, MTNN and ZENITHBANK were the top three most traded shares by value. Shares of GTCO, MTNN and ZENITHBANK worth N409.65mn, N329.67mn, and 199.62mn respectively were exchanged.
