The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has stated that his party won the February 25th election and that he will prove it to Nigerians.
The former Anambra governor said this during a Press conference in Abuja on Thursday.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission had on Wednesday declared Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress the winner of the Saturday’s Presidential election.
Obi said, “We will explore all legal and peaceful options to reclaim our mandate. We won the election. I will prove it to Nigerians.”
He said that the process through which people arrive in office is very important.
“It is my believe that if you must answer His Excellency, the process through which you arrive to office must be excellent,” he said.
He reiterated his commitment and that of his running mate Datti Ahmed that a new Nigeria is possible.
“The election we just witnessed had been conducted and the results announced as programmed,” he said
“It will go down as one of the most controversial election in Nigeria.”
Obi said that the people of Nigeria have been robbed by the leaders they trusted.
He however, called for calm and for his supporters to be law abiding.
