The federal government has directed the closure of universities across the country for three weeks to enable students to participate in the 2023 general elections.
This was disclosed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in a letter addressed to vice-chancellors of all universities and directors of inter-university centres.
NUC noted that the directive was based on the directive of the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu.
This comes amid calls for the closure of universities to allow students partake in the 2023 general elections. The data from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) shows that more 26 million students are currently registered.
