Key Result Areas according to the company;
- The candidate shall continually monitor the status of all Maintenance contracts for static equipment maintenance work and produces monthly reports for availability of required contract services.
- The person shall develop appropriate action plan to tender for new contracts or extend the duration/funds of the contracts to ensure availability of the assigned contract services at all times.
- Development of complete tender specifications including detailed technical specification, bids’ evaluation matrix and cost estimates in consultation with Specialist Contracts, Specialist Shutdowns, Sr. Engineer Tank Repair and Superintendents of Plant Maintenance Dept. Finalize the tender document including the General Terms & Conditions document in coordination with Procurement Dept.
- Liaises with Procurement Department for timely tendering and award of purchase agreements.
- Evaluates bidder/vendors as per approved evaluation criteria, including making site visits as necessary with the required transparency, accountability and assurance among others.
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Excellent written English skills. Good interpersonal communications skills
- At least 10 years’ experience of refinery maintenance and contracting. Of this, at least 5 years’
- experience in contracts management.
- A broad knowledge of refinery equipment and processes
- Fully PC literate/a knowledge of computerized maintenance management
- Fully PC literate with knowledge of maintenance management software
- Ability to prepare monitoring documents, MIS reports and presentations.

Job details for; Supervisor Coating & Painting
The job holder: –
- Reviews all Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Control Plan (QCPs) for surface preparation and painting/coating works to ensure they comply with the Company’s standards and specifications.
- Approve daily inspection reports and ensure that Q.C dossiers are completed and accurate.
- Review work lists and ensures that all coating and lining materials are applied in accordance with the specification and the manufacturer’s application guidelines and instructions.
- Ensure that all blasting & painting equipment are adequate, meets specifications, and in a safe and reliable condition.
- Trade test all Contractor’s manpower and ensure they are suitable to perform works to Company ‘s acceptable standards among others.
Knowledge Skills and Experience
- HND Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Internationally recognized certification to the second highest level of competency as a Painting Inspector, such as FROSIO Certified Inspector, BGAS -CSWIP Painting Inspector Grade 2, NACE Coating Inspector level 2, or SSPC PCI level 1.
- Formal certification for training and awareness of Ultra High-Pressure Water Jetting by WJA, UK or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Painting /Coating environment with:
- At least 3 years of Industrial Maintenance painting works in storage tanks including surface preparation by Ultra High-Pressure Water Blasting (pressures up to 40,000 psi), within the Oil & Gas and Marine Industry
- At least 3 years in coating quality inspection and supervision role.
- Knowledge of Quantity Surveying techniques and procedures.
- Sound knowledge of HSE and QA&QC requirements within the Oil & Gas and Marine Industry.
- Good communication skills and ability to manage Contractors on the Company’s behalf
- Good computer skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office Applications.
