The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been declared in all the 21 Local Government Areas in Anambra in the September 28, 2024 local government elections.
In a press briefing on Sunday, the chairman of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission, ANSIEC, Genevieve Osakwe announced that APGA won all the 21 chairmanship seats and also cleared the 326 councillorship positions in each of the local government areas, as confirmed at the ward level.
She said the Commission collated and analysed the results meticulously to ensure accuracy.
According to the ANSIEC Chairman, “This is to affirm the result of the chairmanship and councillorship election held on September 28, 2024. The commission carefully collated and analysed the results to ensure that there were no mistakes.
“We ensured all scores and parties were announced at the polling units yesterday. We are here, today, to affirm the results as recorded. The election held at all polling units across Anambra State on September 28 was free, fair, and credible.”
Only APGA officials and party agents, were present at the ANSIEC office when the results were declared. Representatives of opposition parties were noticeably absent.
