Investors on the Nigerian Exchange have traded shares worth ₦237.986 billion on the week of Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO. with 3.249 billion shares exchanging shares in 287,919 deals.

On Monday 14th September, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE Initial Public Offering (IPO) opened for subscription. The offer comprises 4.1 billion ordinary shares at ₦525 per share with a minimum purchase of 10 units. The Refinery’s shares will list on the Nigerian Exchange Limited following the completion of the IPO in November, 2026.
NGX Equities market report for September 18th, 2026 shows a total turnover of 3.249 billion shares worth ₦237.986 billion in 287,919 deals was traded this week on the floor of the Exchange. Investors’ traded a total of 3.647 billion shares valued at ₦130.151 billion that exchanged hands in 244,777 deals in the preceding week.
The Financial Services Industry (measured by volume) led the activity chart with 2.581 billion shares valued at ₦97.212 billion traded in 138,900 deals: thus contributing 79.43% and 40.85% to the total equity turnover volume and value respectively. The Services Industry followed with 131.102 million shares worth ₦2.731 billion in 15,084 deals. Third place was the ICT Industry, with a turnover of 114.622 million shares worth ₦21.541 billion in 29,152 deals.
Trading in the top three equities, namely Fidelity Bank Plc, Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc and Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc (measured by volume), accounted for 1.229 billion shares worth ₦15.942 billion in 7,796 deals, contributing 37.83% and 6.70% to
the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.
The NGX All-Share Index and Market Capitalization appreciated by 2.78% and 2.90% to close the week at 249,804.56 and ₦162.157 trillion respectively. Similarly, all other indices finished higher with the exception of NGX Growth index which depreciated by 0.14%.
NGX Banking Index appreciated by 4.43%, while NGX Insurance Index moved marginally by 0.95%. The NGX Consumer Goods Index and NGX Oil/Gas Index appreciated by 0.52% and 3.71% respectively. NGX Industrial Good Index on posted 3.12% gains.
Fifty-two (52) equities appreciated in price during the week, higher than nine (9) equities in the previous week. Thirty-two (32) equities depreciated in price, lower than eighty (80) equities in the previous week, while sixty-three (63) equities remained unchanged, higher
than fifty-eight (58) recorded in the previous week.
UPDC Real Estate Investment Trust (NGX: UPDCREIT) led the gainers table with 34.91% raising from ₦13.75 to ₦18.55, followed Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc (NGX: SOVERINS) which posted 30.95% to close at ₦2.20 from its opening price of ₦1.68. Another Insurance stock, Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc (NGX: MBENEFIT) occupied the third spot with 22.03% gain as it rose from ₦2.95 to close at ₦3.60.
Transcorp Power Plc (NGX: TRANSPOWER) led the losers table, posting a 18.94% decline to drop from ₦219.60 to ₦178.00. John Holt Plc (NGX:JOHNHOLT) followed it with an 18.89% decline going from ₦9.00 to ₦7.30, with Ellah Lakes Plc (NGX: ELLAHLAKES) in third position dropping from ₦10.20 to ₦8.35 in an 18.14% loss.
