Popular Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, is dead.
Investogist learnt that Mr. Ibu died on Saturday afternoon after he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Evercare Hospital, Lekki a few days ago. He was 62 years old.
Mr Ibu, who was rushed to the hospital a week ago died of cardiac arrest, Channels Television reported, citing a close associate of the family.
In November last year, the actor underwent surgery to remove one of his legs after soliciting help and prayers from fans.
Fans and colleagues of Mr Ibu have mourned him in various social media posts.
Mercy Johnson Okojie wrote, “It is well…rest well sir.”
Ruth Kadiri wrote, Sleep well Papa.”
Mr Ibu’s death comes a day after the passing of his colleague, Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, popularly known as Sisi Quadri, who died on Friday.
