As Nigeria continues to grapple with the spread of Covid-19 in across the states in the country, on Wednesday the Presidential Task Force announced the extension of the ban on flights to Nigeria.
The original, ban which was imposed in March, is due to expire on Thursday according to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
Mustapha made this known in Abuja during a regular briefing of the Presidential Task Force on covid-19 on Wednesday. “The ban on all flights will be extended for an additional four weeks.” He said.

The extension was also announced in tweet by the Government of Nigeria on Wednesday.

The ban on flights was imposed in March, as a measure to control the spread of covid-19 in the country. However, there has been an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases due to community spread of the virus.
Nigeria has recorded 2,950 confirmed cases of Covid-19, with 481 recoveries and 98 deaths. On Monday, the lockdown which was imposed in Lagos, FCT and Ogun were eased.
