Governorship and state assembly elections are scheduled to hold across the country on Saturday, March 18.
While state assembly elections will hold in all the 36 states of the federation, governorship elections will hold only in 28 states as the governorship elections of eight states are held off-season due to litigations and court judgements.
The eight where governorship elections will not be held are Anambra, Bayelsa, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kogi, Osun and Ondo.
18 political parties fielded candidates for the governorship election in the 28 states.
The 28 states that will elect new governors on Saturday are: Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, Zamfara.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), thousands of candidates are competing for 993 State Houses of Assembly seats.
