The Senate confirmed Taiwo Oyedele as a minister-designate after a voice vote at the Committee of the Whole, replacing Doris Uzoka-Anite as Minister of State for Finance.
The confirmation of the outgoing chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, followed his screening by the lawmakers on Wednesday.
Oyedele, a public policy expert and economist, was grilled for over two hours and shared his vision.
He previously led Nigeria’s tax reforms, which took over two years to enact, aiming to transform tax administration, boost revenue, improve the business environment, and attract investments.
