President Bola Tinubu swore in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria on Friday.
Tinubu presided over the event at the Council Chambers, having arrived from France. Kekere-Ekun will be the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria, pending confirmation by the Senate.
She is the second female jurist to hold this office. The swearing-in took place at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja. Kekere-Ekun succeeds Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired recently at the age of 70.
On Thursday, Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, disclosed that President Bola Tinubu would swear in Justice Kekere-Ekun as the new Chief Justice of Nigeria.
