The Owerri Zonal Public Hearing of the House of Representatives’ Special Committee on Constitution Review has been suspended until further notice.
This was contained in a press release issued by the House of Representatives Sunday evening.
The public hearing was scheduled to take place in Owerri Center for Imo and Abia States on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd, June 2021.
The statement signed by Rt Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase did not provide the reason for the suspension.
However, there has been tension in Owerri, Imo State following the killing of a former presidential aide, Ahmed Gulak on Sunday morning.
The police spokesperson in Imo State, Bala Elkana said that Gulak was attacked and killed on his way to Sam Mbakwe Airport by armed bandits.
