A 33 year-old Nigerian woman and her infant child has died after they fell from a building in the Kingdom of Bahrain. A report on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday stated the incident occurred in Seef District area of the Island Kingdom.

Seef is a commercial district in Manama, the capital city of Bahrain. The district is dominated by office blocks, luxury apartments, hotels and multiple shopping malls.

A Nigerian resident in the country who spoke to Investogist anonymously stated that the incident is suspected to be suicide. Though details are still sketchy, the reason for the alleged suicide is said to be related to employment conditions.
The full identity of the woman is unknown at the time of this report, however the source said that “She is Yoruba,” whose name is Josephine.
Another Nigerian resident in the country who spoke with Investogist anonymously stated that she worked as a Home caregiver for a Bahraini man.
A voice note circulating online which appeared to have been sent by the deceased to her employer in the country indicates a rift between the deceased and her employer, and has raised speculations on the actual reasons behind the fall.

“Hello, I have been keeping quiet all this while does not mean I am a fool. In my country we respect our boss, in my country, we respect a superior personality, that is why I have been respecting you all this while, its not because I am a fool.
“You are playing on my intelligence. The very first day I got to your office on the 14th of August, I gave you my passport. I have the evidence when I gave you, all these things I will show the police when you call the police.
“You sexually assaulted me, you started touching me, you started touching my body, telling me you like me, and you promised to make visa for me, you. You told me to leave my house in Juffair, I told you I don’t want to leave, you keep begging me.
“Josephine, when will you shift, Josephine when will you shift. I told you I don’t want to shift. I like Juffair, cos in Juffair I have peace of mind. You told me to shift.
“I will pay BHD50, I will pay BHD50, shift, shift. I got here, since I got to your house, you have been giving me problems.
“Before, I make money from my business in Nigeria, I got here, my business kalas [finished]. You give me bad luck, I gave you good luck. I brought good luck to your office.
“I brought staff for you, I brought 6 staff for you from Africa. You employed Charity through me. I brought Charity for you, you betrayed me. You think you are talking with a fool.
“You took my passport from me, and called a Bahraini man that you want to make visa for me, I have the evidence of the Bahraini man, yes. You don’t know who you are toying with.
“Now, you are lying to people that my passport is with me, how my passport is with me, how come? You sent me away on 23rd of August, my husband is a lawyer, so I keep evidence. I keep evidence because of people like you. You sent me away, I did not utter a word. I did not collect money. I did not collect anything, I only signed.
“Just yesterday I got the money I signed for, and now you are telling me you will call police for me. i have all your evidences.
“Let me tell you something Sir, I am a married woman, I have never gone to club in Bahrain. I have never slept with any man in Bahrain. I am a responsible wife. I take care of my Baby alone, and God has been helping.
“I delivered my baby in Salmaniyah, even Salmaniyah, they know I don’t have visa. You cannot threaten me with I don’t have visa. Salmaniyah know that I don’t have visa, when I have my baby, they asked me. I told them, I tried to make Investor visa, I was scammed. I showed you the evidence of that also. They know I don’t have visa, everybody knows I don’t have visa.
“But you promised to make visa for me, you sabotaged me, you lied to me, you played on my intelligence, call… I am going to inform you that Nigerian Authority will be aware of this, Bahrain Authority will be aware of this.
“My evidences will be with my lawyer. Call your lawyer, I will call my lawyer, let us go to court. Let us face the panel, you assaulted me sexually, you assaulted me physically, you threatened to kill my life. Let us start the battle.”
