Liverpool have signed Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig on a five-year deal.
The deal worth £60 million is subject to a work permit.
Szoboszlai is the third most expensive signing in the Reds’ history, behind Virgil van Dijk and Darwin Nunez.
The 22-year-old Hungarian is the club’s second major signing this summer after Alexis Mac Allister joined from Brighton last month.
“It’s really, really good. I enjoyed the last [few] days and I’m looking forward to knowing everybody better,” Szoboszlai said in his first interview to Liverpoolfc.com.
“The last three or four days went really long; it was not that easy. But at the end I’m here, I’m happy and I can’t wait to get started.
“[A] really historic club, really good players, good coach, everything is good. For me it was perfect to make the next step in a club like this. The fans, the stadium, everything is really good.”
Szoboszlai joined Leipzig in January 2021 from Red Bull Salzburg, however, his debut for the Bundesliga club was in August of that year due to injury.
Last season, he scored six goals and registered eight assists in the Bundesliga.
