TrackaNG, an independent project monitoring, and tracking organization, has disclosed series of projects across Nigeria including 2020 FG Zonal Intervention Projects (ZIP) where work is yet to commence despite 50% of funds released to MDAs.
Similarly, the group called the attention of the Lagos State government and other state governors to the deplorable state of roads and schools in their respective states.
The group also revealed some projects where work has commenced and is ongoing.
TrackaNG is a project by BudgIT Nigeria, – a civic tech organization with focus on raising the standards of transparency, citizen engagement and accountability most especially in public finance.
Below is the compilation of some of the projects with the amounts as disclosed by TrackaNg in a series of tweets.
Akwa Ibom State
TrackaNG wrote “N14m allocated in the 2020 FG ZIP for the renovation of schools in Mkpat Enin Urban in Mkpat Enin LGA, Akwa Ibom State We tracked and confirmed work is yet to commence at the project site, despite the 50% of the funds released to MDAs.”
“N7m was allocated in the 2020 FG ZIP for the renovation of village hall Atanuk Mkpat Enin Enin Eastern Obolo federal constituency, Akwa Ibom State. We tracked and confirmed the renovation work is yet to commence.
“N20m was allocated in the 2020 FG ZIP for the construction of Assembly hall in government primary school Ignita Oron LGA, Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District, Akwa Ibom State. We tracked and confirmed the project is yet to commence.

“N5.6m allocated in the 2020 FG ZIP for the supply installation of 500Kva 11 KV line electricity for Ekpene Ikpan Nsit Ibom LGA, Akwa Ibom State. We tracked and confirmed the transformer is yet to be installed as the community is in dire need of light.”
Edo State;
“N200m was allocated in the 2020 FG budget for the provision of agricultural equipment for farmers in Etsako East West and Central. The project is yet to be implemented”
Kogi state
“N5.3m was allocated in the 2020 FG ZIP for the supply of instructional material to science technical school in Ihima at okene LGA of kogi state. We tracked and confirmed the project is yet to be implemented. The residents were sensitised.
Anambra State
“N15m was allocated in the 2020 FG ZIP for furnishing of Ifite civic centre(Furniture and Airconditioners 60KVa Gen set) at Ifite village civic centre Aguluzigbo Anaocha LGA, Anambra State. We tracked and confirmed the project is yet to be implemented
Sokoto State
“N12.7m was allocated in the 2020 FG ZIP for the supply of 153 Nos of sewing machine with stand in Gwadabawa Fed.constituency, Sokoto State. We tracked and confirmed the sewing machine is yet to be supplied.
Niger State
“N10m was allocated in the 2019 FG ZIP for the rehabilitation of suleja town hall in Suleja LGA, Niger State. We tracked and confirmed the project has been abandoned by the contractor after fund released for renovation.
Edo State
“N 223,250,000 was allocated in the 2020 FG budget for the reconstruction of a pedestrian bridge at Auchi poly main gate, Edo State. We tracked and confirmed work is yet to commence. Despite the 50% of the funds released to the MDAs.
Plateau State
“N72.6m was allocated in the 2019 FG ZIP for the supply of 60 NosTricycles for Jos south,Barking Ladi and Jos North in plateau north Sen. District Plateau state. The team visited 3 LGAs to track the project, NO BENEFICIARY WAS FOUND in the constituency.
Imo State
“N20m was allocated in the 2020 FG ZIP for solar powered street lights in Mbutu road, Aboh Mbaise, Imo State. We tracked and confirmed No new Solar streetlights has been installed. The existing ones has STOPPED working.”
Oyo State
“N100m was allocated in the 2020 FG budget for the provision of agricultural equipment for farmers in Erunmu, Egbeda LGA, Oyo State. We tracked and confirmed NO farm equipment has been supplied, despite the 50% of the funds released to the MDAs
“N26,496,500 was allocated in the 2020 FG budget for the rehabilitation of access road in Federal government college Ogbomosho, Oyo State. We tracked and confirmed work is yet to commence.
“N10m was allocated in the 2020 FG ZIP for the renovation and furnishing Ratibi Pry Sch, Molete Ibadan North West/South West Fed. constituency, Oyo State. We tracked and confirmed work is yet to commence, despite the 50% of the funds released to the MDAs.”
Ongoing projects
Akwa Ibom State
“N20m was allocated in the 2020 FG ZIP for the construction of ICT knowledge centre and furnishing provision of 30 Nos desktop computer at Nsit people grammar school, Afaha offiong Nsit Ibom LGA, Akwa Ibom State. Status: ONGOING
“N60m was allocated in the 2020 FG ZIP for entrepreneurship development training for youth in Ukanafun and oruk Anam LGA, Akwa Ibom State. We tracked and confirmed 250 beneficiaries were selected from 24 wards across the constituency and trained.”
Deplorable roads
TrackNg called the attention of the Lagos State Government to the “deplorable state of Sangotedo road, Eti-Osa LGA, and Itire road, Mushin LGA, Lagos state. The group said that these roads are no longer accessible for road users and needs rehabilitation and drainage.

TrackaNg also called the attention of the Governor of Bayelsa State Douye Diri, to the “terrible state of Sagbama / Ekeremor road constructed by Henry Seriake Dickson, the former Governor of Bayelsa State with multi billionaire state funds.”

According to TrackNg the road is no longer accessible for road users and need reconstruction. The group urged Governor Diri to do the needful.
Similarly, TrackaNg urged the governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to address the “terrible state of Jauro Kawu Pry school New Liji, Yalmatu Deba LGA, Gombe, where pupils sit on the bare floor to learn.” Yahawa was asked to do the needful by renovating the school, as well as providing staff and furniture.
