In a significant development for Nigeria’s fuel market, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in its ex-depot petrol price from ₦828 to ₦699 per litre, effective December 11, 2025.
This ₦129 decrease marks the 20th adjustment of 2025 and may lead to retail prices dropping below ₦800 nationwide, providing relief for consumers during the holiday season.
To enhance distribution, the refinery has also introduced a 10-day credit period for marketers, positioning itself as a strong competitor against the NNPC and other importers.
Experts view this move as a positive step towards controlling inflation and stabilizing the Naira, although they emphasize that sustained reforms are necessary.
