On Wednesday, the Nigerian Center for Disease Control recorded 196 new cases of Coronavirus in the country across 11 states and FCT. The details of the new cases are as follows; 87-Lagos, 24-Kano, 18-Gombe, 17-Kaduna, 16-FCT, 10-Katsina, 8-Sokoto, 7-Edo, 6-Borno, 1-Yobe, 1-Ebonyi, 1-Adamawa
As at 11:55pm 29th April there are 1,728 confirmed cases in the country with 307 recoveries and 51 deaths recorded.
As the rest of the world grapples with the ravaging impact of Coronavirus spread, China seems to have the spread under control as it has continued to gradually open up the country after an extensive lockdown.
According to Chinese news media, Caixin Global, “Vaccine developers in China face a problem as the number of Covid-19 cases declines”. “Researchers in China are facing difficulties pushing forward studies on potential Covid-19 vaccines because of a lack of qualified patients to participate in trials”

Coronavirus pandemic continues to wreck havoc in the world economy. As is evident on the recent GDP figure released by the US. Which saw the economy shrink for the first time in almost five years.
U.S remains the worst affected country with 1,036,652 and 60475 deaths. While in Europe, Spain has the largest number of confirmed cases at 236,899 and 24,275 people have died.
According to John Hopkins Coronavirus resource Center, there are 3,187,919 confirmed cases of Covid-19 globally with 226771 deaths.
