Enugu-bound Air Peace flight 7100 from Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos has made an emergency return Saturday morning following an engine failure.
The flight originally billed for 7am and was rescheduled to depart Lagos to Enugu at 8:40am, suffered engine failure 20 minutes after take-off.
A passenger in the flight who does not wish to be named told Investogist that it was a terrible experience and that God averted what would have been a terrible Plane Crash today.
He said: “Please you all should help me thank God for averting what would’ve been a major headline today of a terrible Plane Crash, the engine almost packed up 20mins after taken off and the pilot had to make an emergency u turn back to Lagos. I was actually travelling from Lagos to enugu. On touching down at the point the tryes of the air craft became very stiff. If not God, I wonder.”
“In fact it took the pilot like 30 mins to start the plane before taking off and we were all complaining as to if there is any issue with the plane. And meanwhile the flight was suppose to be 7am flight and they sent a message of time change to 8:40,” he said.
In 2019, Owerri-bound Air Peace flight from the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, made an air return over engine failure.
The aircraft, departed the airport at 07.35am with 90 passengers and six crew members on board and returned at 8.06 am.
The Corporate Communications Executive, Air Peace, Stanley Olisa, at the time confirmed the aircraft was already airborne when the pilot noticed a change in the parameter of one of the engines and aborted the flight.
