Shareholders of Champion Breweries Plc (NGX: CHAMPION) have approved a capital raising exercise at the Extra-ordinary General Meeting of the Company held on Thursday 24th July, 2025.

The Shareholders also considered and approved a proposal to issue additional shares of up to 5,000,000,000 ordinary shares of 50 kobo each.
Board of the Company were authorized to issue the shares h in the Nigerian and/or international capital markets, either as a standalone issue(s) or by the establishment of a capital raising programme(s).
Alongside the 5,000,000,000 share issuance, the Company will also raise additional debt capital of up to ₦45,000,000,000 directly and/or indirectly by such means as the Board may
deem appropriate.
The share issuance and capital raise were amongst the resolutions proposed and passed at the virtual EGM held at the aforementioned date at 12.00 noon.
Furthermore, the Company was also authorized d to undertake an acquisition transaction whether by way of acquisition of shares of a going concern or through the acquisition of equity interest in a special purpose vehicle that holds intellectual property rights and brand assets, with the intent of securing beneficial ownership and control of the said intellectual property and brand, in furtherance of the Company’s strategic growth objectives.
Champion Breweries Plc was incorporated in Nigeria as a limited liability company on 31 July 1974 and was later converted to a public limited liability company on 1 September 1992. The address of the Company’s registered office is Industrial Layout, Aka Uffot, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
The Company is involved in the brewing and marketing of Champion Lager Beer and Champ Malta. The Company also provides contract brewing and packaging services to Nigerian Breweries Plc. The Ultimate parent Company of Champion Breweries Plc is EnjoyCorp. The immediate parent Company is The Raysun Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of EnjoyCorp.
