The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has defeated his All Progressives Congress (APC), counterpart, Bola Tinubu in the Lagos State presidential election.
Peter Obi polled 582,454 to defeat Tinubu who was the governor of Lagos state from 1999 to 2007. Tinubu secured 572,606 votes.
Tinubu was followed by the candidate of the Peoples democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar with 75,750 and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) with 8,442 votes.

Of the 87, 209,007 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected nationwide for the election, 6,214,970 PVCs were collected in Lagos, according to INEC.
