The Nigerian Equities market gained 0.30% on Monday, after suffering loses on Monday and Tuesday, The Nigerian Exchange’s All-Share Index (NGX ASI) added 301.71 points to close the day at 101,362.38 points.

The market capitalization also advanced by 0.30% to settle at ₦55.46 trillion, adding ₦165 billion to Investors’ wealth.
Despite more losers than gainers, the NGX ASI still advanced primarily on the back of gains by FBN Holdings Plc (NGX: FBNH) and BUA Cement Plc (NGX: BUACEMENT).
FBN Holdings Plc (NGX: FBNH) emerged as the top gainer on Tuesday, advancing by 9.96%. Okomu Oil Palm Plc (NGX: OKOMUOIL) was the biggest loser, with its share price shading 10%.
At the trading of trading on Wednesday, the NGX ASI gains moved up to 35.56%, with Investors’ gain rising to ₦14.54 trillion.
Activity Level
The activity level was mixed on Wednesday as the volume of shares traded increased while the value of shares traded decreased. The number of deals done also decreased.
The volume of shares increased by 18.20%, while the value of shares traded and the number of deals done decreased by 1.15% and 1.96% respectively.
At the end of trading, 302.73 million shares valued at ₦6.55 billion had exchanged hands in 8,611 deals.
Shares of FBN Holdings Plc (NGX: FBNH), Japaul Gold and Ventures Plc (NGX: JAPAULGOLD) and Transnational Corporation Plc (NGX: TRANSCORP) were the most traded stocks by volume with 39.37 million, 30.19 million and 27.36 million shares respectively.
Shares of FBN Holdings Plc (NGX: FBNH), Seplat Energy Plc (NGX: SEPLAT) and Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (NGX: GTCO) were the most traded by value, with their shares worth ₦1.10 billion, ₦763.29 million and ₦667.21 million respectively exchanging hands.

- Juli Plc (NGX: JULI): It gained 9.60% to close at ₦1.94.
- Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc (NGX: MBENEFIT): It gained 9.38% to close at ₦0.70.
- Regency Assurance Plc (NGX: REGALINS): It gained 7.32% to close at ₦0.44.
- BUA Cement Plc (NGX: BUACEMENT): It gained 4.93% to close at ₦150.00.
The top five losers were;
- Okomu Oil Palm Plc (NGX: OKOMUOIL): It lost 10.00% to close at ₦243.00
- Morison Industries Plc (NGX: MORISON): It lost 9.69% to close at ₦2.05.
- Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc (NGX: STERLINGNG): It lost 9.58% to close at ₦4.34.
- Japual Gold and Ventures Plc (NGX: JAPAULGOLD): It lost 9.34% to close at ₦2.33.
- Caverton Offshore Support Group Plc (NGX: CAVERTON): It lost 9.19% to close at ₦1.68.
Two of the five indices under our watch depreciated, while three advanced.
- Banking Index: The index gained 0.31% to close at 875.68 points (YTD: -2.40%).
- Industrial Index: The industrial index gained 1.60% to close at 4,906.13 points (YTD: +80.89%).
- Consumer Goods Index: The index lost 0.24% to 1,609.51 points (YTD: +43.54%).
- Oil & Gas Index: It gained 0.07% to close at 1,312.22 points (YTD: +25.80%).
- Insurance Index: The index lost 2.50% to close at 386.00 points (YTD: +20.00%).
