The local stock market extended yesterday’s gains as the NGX-ASI and market capitalization increased by 0.14% to 59,099.36 points and N32.18 trillion respectively at the end of today’s trading session.
The top gainers were SKYAVN 10.00%, ACADEMY 10.00%, CHAMS 10.00% and GUINEANS 10.00%. Furthermore, Year-To-Date retum rose to 15.31%.
Trading activity declined today as total volume and value traded fell by 39.93% and 25.94% to 536 million units and N8.25 billion, respectively.
Also, UBA and GTCO emerged as both the most traded stock by volume and value, respectively.
The market breadth closed positively at 2.53x as a result of Forty-Eight (48) stocks that appreciated while Nineteen (19) stocks declined.
Fixed Income Market
The average system liquidity increased by 21.86% to N866 billion from its opening balance of N711 billion.
At the interbank market, the Open Buy Back and Over night rates closed flat 11.60% and 12.10% respectively.
At the NTBills market, trading activity was flat as average yield remained unchanged at 6.46%.
Similarly, at the Bond market, activity closed flat at an average yield of 14.12%.
FX Market:
The Naira exchange rate, at the I&E window appreciated by 2% to close at 756.61/USD from 770.38/USD recorded yesterday.
