The Federal government has said that the Abuja-Kaduna rail line will not resume operation until all those kidnapped by bandits in March are rescued and reunited with their families.
The was made known by the Minister of Transportation, Mr Mu’azu Sambo on Wednesday during an inspection visit to the Idu and Kubwa train stations in Abuja.
Sambo said that advanced technologies are being deployed by the FG to rail services across the country to prevent similar attacks in the future.
On March 28, 2022, an Abuja-Kaduna train was attacked. More than 60 passengers were abducted during the attack while some lost theirs lives.
About 37 passengers have been released while others remain in captivity. the most recent was the release of 5 abducted passengers on Tuesday.
