Eyinnaya Abaribe who dumped the Peoples Democratic Party and resigned his position as the Senate Minority Leader has joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
He confirmed joining APGA to reporters in Umuahia on Friday.
Abaribe, who had earlier pulled out from PDP’s Abia State governorship race said he did so in order to seek re-election to the Senate under APGA in 2023.
He had announced his exit from PDP and as a minority leader in separate letters addressed to to the ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State and the President of the Senate in the National Assembly.

He said his reason for leaving the PDP is due to the “shameful display of illegality, impunity and undemocratic decision of the party and after due consultations with my constituents.”
