When combined with the ₦1.00 interim dividend already paid, this brings the total dividend for 2025 to ₦12.76 per share a substantial increase from ₦8.03 in the prior year.
The announcement, made on March 31, 2026, underscores GTCO’s commitment to delivering shareholder returns even in a challenging macroeconomic environment.
GTCO’s audited financial statements reveal robust underlying performance. The Group reported:
Gross earnings of ₦2.150 trillion marginally rose from ₦2.148 trillion in 2024).
Profit before tax (PBT) of ₦1.231 trillion.
Profit after tax (PAT) of ₦865.75 billion (attributable to equity holders: ₦853.55 billion), compared to ₦1.018 trillion in 2024.
The moderation in PAT was primarily due to recent fiscal adjustments, including the taxation of investment securities and the introduction of withholding tax on short-term instruments.
Despite this, core business lines remained strong: interest income and fee & commission income grew significantly year-on-year reported increases of approximately 23% and 26%, reflecting a good loan book expansion, deposit growth, and transaction volumes across banking, payments, pension administration, and asset management subsidiaries.
Earnings per share (EPS) stood at 25.43 kobo for the Group.
