The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is recruiting for five National and International Volunteer positions in Nigerian and Burkina Faso.
Nigerians can apply for two (numbers iv & v) out of the five available positions.
According to ECOWAS, successful applicants are expected to resume work on 1st July 2023. The jobs are for a duration of one (01) year, with possibility for renewal, which the commission said depends “on budget availability and satisfactory performance.”
Here are the positions advertised by ECOWAS
i. Programme Assistant in Burkina Faso – The position is open to ONLY Nationals of Burkina Faso, aged not more than 35 years by the date of recruitment.
Required Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, project management, economics, international relations, or any other appropriate diploma, with at least 3 years of professional experience.
Compensation: An initial contract for 12 months will be offered with a monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of 683.13 USD or its equivalent in local currency. Other allowances as provided for in the Conditions of Service of ECOWAS Volunteers, will also be paid.

ii. Communication and Visibility Specialist in Nigeria – The position is open to citizens of all ECOWAS Member States (EXCEPT THOSE FROM NIGERIA), aged not more than 35 years by the date of recruitment.
Required Qualifications and Experience: Education/Degrees Master of Science/Master Journalism, Mass Communication, Communication related fields.

- Report writing
- Content generation
- Experience: 3 years minimum

iv. Youth Programme Specialist in Burkina Faso -The position is open to citizens of all ECOWAS Member States (EXCEPT THOSE FROM BURKINA FASO), aged not more than 38 years by the date of recruitment.
v. Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist in Burkina Faso – The position is open to citizens of all ECOWAS Member States (EXCEPT THOSE FROM BURKINA FASO), aged not more than 38 years by the date of recruitment.
