There was drama at the presidential election petition court on Wednesday as Lamidi Apapa, factional national chairman of the Labour Party (LP), confronted Akin Osuntokun, director-general of Peter Obi’s presidential campaign council, demanding to seat close to Obi.
Osuntokun and other party leaders were already seated in the plaintiffs’ gallery when Apapa and his team approached them and requested that they vacate their seats.
Heated argument ensued as Apapa claims he belonged in the plaintiff’s gallery as the party leader while Osuntokun insists that Apapa has no right to be to the seat.
Josephine Ekperobe, secretary of the presidential election petition court, stepped in to quell the argument but the drama continued.

When the case was called, Obi announced appearance for himself and Dudu Manuga, national woman leader of the party, announced appearance for the party but was interrupted by Apapa.
Due to the confusion, the five-member panel of justices led by Haruna Tsammani refused to record any representation for the party, TheCable reported.
In a tweet however, Labour Party said that Apapa’s attempt to disrupt
“The hearing was “refused” by the court. Rebel former Deputy National Chairman of Labour Party, Lamidi Apapa made true his threat to truncate the Presidential Election Tribunal by attempting to appear as representative of the @NgLabour at the ongoing hearing but was refused by the Tribunal. He was thoroughly disgraced.”
