Sir Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor has stated that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has not authorized anyone to declare a sit-at-home on Tuesday, 4th October 2022 over his court case.

The Council representating Kanu in a series of Tweets informed the general public and members of IPOB whom he refers to as “Ụmụ Chineke” in particular that “Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not going to Court on the 4th day of October, 2022, being Tuesday next week.”
For the purpose of clarification, the Fundamental Rights Suit, files on behalf of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at the Federal Government High Court Umuahia, Abịa State is scheduled for Ruling on jurisdictional issues raised suo motu by the Court, on the 4th day of October, 2022.
Let the members of the general public be properly informed and appropriately guided, that we have the firm instruction of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to inform the public, lovers of freedom and UmuChineke, that Onyendu will not be coming to Court on the 4th day of October, 2022.
As such, Onyendu neither directed, approved nor authorized anyone to declare a sit-at-home on that date
Members of the general public are advised to go about their normal business activities on this said date.
He went on to state that the clarification became “compelling and necessary” in view od the avalanche of misleading information on the social media, and the calls that he received from people.
The Council to MNK assured “UmuChineke” that they shall inform them any time Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is scheduled to appear in Court.
He went on to list other Suits Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has pending against the Federal Government of Nigeri, and her agencies in various courts across the Country that will be coming up for hearing on 5th October, 2022before Justice Ekwo of Court No. 5, Federal High Court Abuja.

- Suit challenging the constitutionality or otherwise of the 2022 Practice Direction on the trial of terrorism offences, filed against the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court & Anor, in Suit Nọ: FHC/ABJ/CS/550/2022.
In his words, “However, kindly note that Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, still NEVER APPROVED nor AUTHORIZED that on the said dates, the members of the general public be directed to sit at home.”
In response to arrest and extraordinary rendition of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to Nigeria, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) instituted a weekly Monday sit-at-home in”Biafraland.” Although, they later lifted the sit-at-home order, the sit-at-home has persisted in the 5 South Eastern states for over a year now.
In place of the Monday sit-at-home home, the IPOB leadership ordered a sit-at-home everyday that their leader appears in Court, in solidarity with him.
