Dangote Cement Plc announces over N337 billion final dividend for FY 2021

Dangote Cement Plc has announced a final dividend of N20.00 per share, for the financial year ended December 31, 2022.

This is 25% higher than the final dividend of N16 paid by the company for the 2020 financial year.

The proposed dividend with a qualification date of May 30, 2022 is subject to appropriate withholding tax and approval by the company’s shareholders.

The company will hold its Annual General Meeting on June 14 2022, at 11.00 am, Eko Hotel & Suites, Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

If approved, the dividend which amounts to N337.47 billion will on June 25, 2022 be paid electronically to shareholders whose names appear in the Register of Members as at May 30, 2022 and who have completed the e-dividend registration and mandated the Registrar to pay their dividends directly into their bank accounts.

Shareholders who are yet to complete the e-dividend registration are advised to do so.

Dangote Cement Plc in 2021 grew its revenue by 34% to N1.38 trillion from B1.03 trillion in 2020. The net profit increased 32% to N364 billion from N276.1 billion in 2020. The earnings per share in 2021 stood at N21.24, 32% up from the N16.14 recorded in 2020.

The Company’s shareholders approved the execution of a Share Buy-Back Programme at the Extraordinary General Meeting, which was held on 21st January 2020. This Programme, which involves the Company’s buy-back of up to 10% of its issued shares, will be effected in tranches.

Dangote Cement Plc has 17,040,507,404 number of shares pre-buy-back. 40,200,000 and 126,748,153 shares respectively were bought back in tranche 1 and tranche 2. Total number of residual issued and fully paid outstanding shares for the company now stands at 16,873,559,251.

The share price of Dangote Cement Plc closed at N273.5 per share on Monday on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange. The price remains unchanged at the time of writing this report.

YTD the share price is up 6.42%. The 52-week high and low prices are N284.90 and N204.00 per share respectively.
