The former Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, is currently in the Makurdi custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, following an invitation, Daily Trust reported.
The immediate past Benue governor was invited to be questioned as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial misappropriation during his tenure.
Ortom arrived at the Makurdi zonal office of the anti-graft agency, located at Alor Gordon Street, at 10:08a.m. on Tuesday.
The former governor’s media aide, Terver Akase, and Principal Special Assistant on Special Duties, Abraham Kwanhgu, were seen with the governor.
Investogist gathered that Ortom left a debt profile of N187.7 billion for the new government.
According to Ortom, the total income of the state during his eight years leadership amounted to N734.9billion.
