At least 10 persons lost their lives in an accident on the notorious Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Tuesday.
The accident involved an orange-coloured Iveco truck marked KRA 80 XA and an ash-coloured Toyota Hiace bus with registration number FKY 898 YF.
This is according to Mrs Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, who confirmed the incident to newsmen.
She said that 18 men were involved in the accident which occurred at 5:00 a.m. at Kara, near the turning towards the interchange on the expressway.
Okpe stated that seven people sustained injuries. She said the driver lost control due to speeding and “rammed into the truck that was about negotiating the turning.”
She noted that the injured victims were taken to Famobis Hospital, Mowe, for medical attention, while the dead bodies were deposited at Idera Morgue, Sagamu.
