The market sentiment was mixed as the volume traded declined by 35.28% while value traded declined by 27.88% to close at 266.95million units and N1,929.00million respectively. Also, TRANSCORP and ZENITHBANK recorded the highest volume and value traded respectively.
However, market breadth closed negative at 0.47x due to the gains reported in Nine (9) equities, while Nineteen (19) stocks lost.
Although, sectorial performance was negative as the Industrial 0.04%, Consumer goods 0.26% and Oil & Gas sector 0.17% sector lost. The Banking 0.08% and Insurance sector 0.10% gained.
Fixed Income Market
The average system liquidity declined to negative N160.69 billion from its opening balance of negative N81.07billion
However, at the interbank market, the Open Buy Back and Overnight rate declined by 13bps each to settle at 15.50% and 18.88% respectively.
At the close of market activities, average yield closed by 10bps to close at 8.09% at the NTBills market.
Similarly, at the Bonds market, trading activities was bearish as average yield increased marginally by 3bps to close at 14.26%.
The Naira exchange rate, at the I&E window, appreciated by N0.50 to N463.25/USD from N463.75/USD.
