Do you have an idea to improve the Nigerian Civil Service? Apply for the Public Service Innovation Challenge 2020.
The Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) calls for innovative thinkers to introduce their ideas that will lead to the transformation of the public service. OHCSF said it will “build visibility for your solution and provide a suitable environment for the development of your ideas.”
Eligibility
The competition is open to Public Servants nationwide. Officers and teams of officers with innovative ideas, models, tools, products, technology, services or hardware targeting the reduction or conservation of cost and increase of revenue can apply.
*Judges, members of the Public Service Innovation Team, their immediate families and people living in their households are not eligible to apply
The winner of the challenge will receive an award of N3.00 million while second and third runner ups will receive N1.75 million and N1.00 million respectively.
Ten Innovators will get a consolation price of N200,000 each.

Judging Criteria
Judging will be based on some of the following criteria;
- Originality – How original is your idea? Does it exist in any other form in the public or private sectors?
- Value Creation – Refers to the net impact the idea makes on the public sector as a whole
- Feasibility – What is the possibility of your idea being done, affected or accomplished
- Value Capture – Checks the return of investment from the implementation of the idea
- Written Composition – How composed your plan is
Submission of ideas is ongoing at OHCSF’s Innovation Website. Submissions are open until 13 July 2020.
Round one and round two pitching of problems/ideas will take place from 14-15 July and 16-17 July 2020 respectively.
