The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has reached an agreement with Dangote Refinery to source products directly from them.
IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Garima, made this announcement during a press briefing on Monday in Abuja, following a meeting of the Association’s National Working Committee.
He stated that this partnership would ensure a steady and affordable supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) products across the country. “After meeting with Aliko Dangote and his management team in Lagos, we are pleased to announce that Dangote Refinery has agreed to supply IPMAN with PMS, Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) directly for distribution to our depots and retail outlets,” Garima said.
Garima encouraged IPMAN members to support Dangote Refinery, highlighting the benefits of backward integration and its positive impact on Nigeria’s foreign exchange market. He urged them to rely on Dangote Refinery and other Nigerian refineries for white products, which would create more job opportunities and support President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda.
This latest development wraps up several months of negotiations between the two parties and is expected to enhance efficiency, affordability, and economic growth.
The Dangote Refinery, the largest in Africa and Europe, has already begun producing petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel. It plans to supply products to over 30,000 IPMAN members and 150,000 retail outlets nationwide.
This agreement is anticipated to eliminate middlemen, lower costs, and ensure a consistent supply of products.
