President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate postings of 65 ambassadors-designate and high commissioners to various Nigerian missions abroad and multilateral organisations, including the United Nations.
The deployment, announced on Friday, March 6, 2026, by the State House through Bayo Onanuga the SA to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, after the Senate’s confirmed their nominations in December 2025.
The list comprises 34 non-career ambassadors and 31 career diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commenced induction processes for the envoys, who are expected to assume duties shortly after receiving agrément from host countries.
The United Kingdom has granted agreement to High Commissioner designate Aminu Dalhatu, while France has done the same for Ambassador Ayodele Oke.
