The Afrobeats artist Davido says his performance at the inauguration party of Abia state governor, Alex Otti was for free.
Davido revealed this while responding to a tweeter’s question regarding his performance on Monday night. He added that the new governor “will do well for the people of Abia state.”
The Abia chief judge, Lilian Abai, administered the oath of office to the Labour Party (LP) candidate at the noontime inauguration ceremony held at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
The governor organized an after-party shortly after the inauguration, when Davido dazzled the throng.
Reacting to video clips of his performance, the user had asked: “Na free performance?”
Davido responded “Not a dime I’ve known Excellency all my life…and I’m sure he will do well for the people of Abia State.”
