The resumption of international flights in Nigeria, earlier scheduled on 29 August has been postponed to 5 September 2020, according to the, Federal Ministry of Aviation.
The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, had announced on Monday 17 August the commencement of International flights on 29 August 2020.
However, the Director-General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Musa Nuhu, said that international flights would not resume as earlier announced.
He said September 5, 2020 was picked as the new date for the resumption because there were still issues to be sorted out before allowing international carriers to operate into and out of Nigeria.
In a tweet the Aviation Ministry on Thursday wrote “Breaking: Regret to announce that the international flight resumption earlier scheduled to resume on 29th August has been shifted to 5th September 2020.”
