Bandits attack Zamfara community, Abducts 47 persons

Bandits have carried out another terror attack on the Danbaza community in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State. During the attack 47 people were kidnapped.

Mustapha Danbaza, a resident of the village, reported that eleven people from a single family were kidnapped.

He further stated that a few weeks ago, a commercial vehicle loaded with passengers was attacked by the bandits in the same Danbaza, adding that nothing had been heard about the victims.

Maradun, which is the hometown of former governor Bello Matawalle, now Minister of State for Defense, has been facing a series of armed bandits’ attacks.

The most recent attack was unleashed by bandits in the area of the Gora community, where several persons were abducted.

Janbako and many other villages have been under constant armed bandits’ attacks for some time now.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Yazid, said he would confirm the incident and report back to newsmen.
