Peter Obi’s Counsel tenders more evidence from eight states

The counsel to Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party has tendered more evidences from eight states in the ongoing hearing at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party and the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) are all challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission’s declaration of Ahmed Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Presidential election held on 25th February, 2023.

According to results declared by INEC, Tinubu, 71, got 8,794,726 votes, 76-year-old Atiku polled 6,984,520 votes and Obi, 61, finished the race with 6,101,533.

The proceedings for the Labour Party began at 2.05pm, with Peter Obi present in Court for himself and the Labour State, while LP Counsel team was led by Patrick Ikwueto SAN.

At the hearing, Peter Obi’s counsel presented Form EC8As for the the Following States Were Presented: Kogi , Sokoto ( 7 out of 23 LGAs) , Nassarawa , Ondo Delta, Kaduna & Imo While EC8A, EC8B & EC8C for Ebonyi.

All documents presented were opposed by the Respondents; President Bola Tinubu, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Vice-President Kashim Shettima, and the APC.

The Court admitted all the documents as exhibits.

The court proceedings ended at about 5:30pm and adjourned till Tuesday June 6th 2023 by 2Pm.
