Norwich City FC Relegated from the English Premier League

Norwich City were relegated from the Premier League earlier today after being beaten 4-0 by West Ham Unit at Carrow Road, with all four goals from Michail Antonio ensuring the Canaries return to the Sky Bet Championship after just a season in the Premier League.

Both teams started the game looking to avoid relegation; while West Ham sort to put some distance between themselves and the bottom three, Norwich City were looking to keep the dying flame of their hopes to remain in the premier league alive.

It was West Ham United that achieved their objective, as they put a four point gap between themselves and the 18th placed team, AFC Bournemouth at 28 points with a game in hand.

West Ham points moved to 34, and they were joined at 34 points by Watford, who came from behind to beat Newcastle United 2-1, with the game being played at the same time.

Norwich City relegation has now been confirmed with 3 games to go to the end of the season. The club is currently at 21 points, 13 points behind the 17th placed Watford. To avoid relegation confirmation today, they needed to win against West Ham, and hope that Watford lose to Newcastle. None of these two happened.

Norwich City FC won promotion back to the English Premier League after a three-year absence as the Champions of the Championship League on the back of the goals from their Finnish Striker Teemu Pukki, the club spent most of the 2018-2019 season at the top of the table.

Given this relegation, the club became the first team in Premier League history to be relegated five times from the division.
