Nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonago is dead

Nollywood actor, Amaechi Muonagor, has died at 62 after suffering from kidney-related issues, diabetes and stroke.

Muonagor, 62 was said to have died  on Sunday, March 24, 2024,  He had in 2023, suffered a stroke that led to partial paralysis of his left leg.

His death was announced on X (formerly Twitter) by social media influencer and chairman of Delta State Sports Association, Morris Monye.

Monye wrote, “Deeply heartbroken by the news of Amaechi Muonagor’s passing.

“He was a talented Nollywood actor whose presence on our screens was truly masterful.

“We watched with concern as he battled health issues, offering whatever support we could to help him seek treatment in India.

“This tragic loss highlights the need for better healthcare in our country.”

According to reports, he was undergoing weekly dialysis and physiotherapy to treat the paralysis brought on by stroke.

His demise comes just days after he cried out for financial assistance on social media to enable him pay for a kidney transplant.

The actor who hailed from Idemili North LGA of Anambra State, was in 2016 nominated for AMVCA 2017 Best Actor in a comedy.

Amaechi Mounagor is survived by his wife, Hope Chikodi Muonagor, and their children.

Amaechi Muonagor’s death comes weeks after the death of his colleague, John Okafor, a.k.a Mr Ibu.
