The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally declared Governor Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the governorship election in Ogun State.
The declaration was made by the INEC State Returning Officer in the sate, Kayode Adebowale on Sunday.

In the result announced, the APC candidate scored 276,298 votes to emerge the winner, closely followed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ladi Adebutu who polled 262,383 votes. Biyi Otegbeye of the ADC polled 94,754 votes to come third.
“I hereby declare that Dapo Abiodun having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared the winner and he is returned elected,” Mr Adebowale said.
A total of 663,968 valid votes were recorded in the election, with the top three parties securing 633,435 of the votes, 95.4% of the total valid votes.
The PDP has, however, called for a re-run election in polling units where elections were cancelled. The party submitted a petition to INEC through its state collation agent, Sunkanmi Olajide. The party accused the APC of using thugs to disrupt elections in some polling units in the state, claiming that the total number of cancelled votes was higher than the margin of victory.
In the presidential election held on 25th February, President-elect, Bola Tinubu of the APC won Ogun state with 341,554 votes, followed by Atiku Abubakar of the PDP who got 123,831 votes and Peter Obi of Labour Party with 85,829 votes.
For the presidential election, a total of 580,124 valid votes were recorded.
