FULL LIST: States & FCT Internally Generated revenue in 2022

The 36 states in Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory generated N1.93 trillion in 2022 Internally Generated Revenue, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Monday.

Lagos, Rivers and FCT topped the list with N651.15 billion, N172.89 billion, and N124.4 billion, respectively while Kebbi, Taraba and Yobe were the least with N9.1 billion, N10.2 billion, and N10.5bn respectively.

According to NBS, Pay As Your Earn (PAYE) “was the most contributing revenue source during the year.” It represented 67.62 per cent share of the total tax generated revenues nationwide.

It further noted that capital gains tax was the least in the year under review with 0.24 per cent share to total tax revenue.
